Level 7 only adds 7 new models. Skaven Master Assassin, Manticore, Giant, Hydra, Great Taurus, Chimera, and Wyvern. I like to knock out human sized models first, leaving the cool larger models for a dessert for the end of the Level. Well, seeing as we have one small model and 6 large monsters, this level is almost all dessert.
So lets start with our pees and carrots, Skaven Master Assassin. Not sure where I got this STL from, but it appears to be a proxie of 4th edition of Snikch (it lacks the blood//poison drops on his weapons).
On August 20th I did another pole on what monsters I should paint next. The results go as follows:
1st - Hydra (54%)
2nd - Giant (17%)
3rd - Manticore (15%)
4th - Great Taurus (8%)
tied for 5th - Wyvern & Chimera (3% each)
Following this order, Hydra is first on our list. I've had trouble finding the original GW model's STL. So I had to go searching for outside sources. I found this model on Cults3d.com by Albertorius. That model can be found here. This model was designed for Warmaster scale, so I had to scale it up.
I'm not sure if I like this model. It seems too small next to most of the other large monsters I have. If I find a better model, I may replace it.
Up next, Giant. Much like the hydra, the model I'm using was originally designed for the Warmaster scale but this time came from Thingiverse.com and I got from Tilinger. If that sounds familiar, he is were I got my Goblin Netters, Squig Herders, Goblin Hero and Goblin Shaman from. All had to be scaled up to work for my Tiny Quest. You can get the Giant here.
The Giant was something we printed off really early. I wanted to test how well our printer could work on larger models. The first print had issues, he must have sunk under his own weight from insufficient supports. His left hand, left leg and the barrel on his waist all had issues. Instead of reprinting the whole model, I made copies of just his hand and foot, cutting off the original deformed versions and replacing them with new ones that printed better. I had to fill in the gap between his shin and new foot with green stuff (its visible in the pictures if you look for it). I like the classic paint scheme that the giant has to sew together banners and blankets that don't match to be able to get enough cloth to make a shirt so I used that here.

| The elf looks quite "dinky" next to the Giant. |
Now onto the Manticore. I was able to find the classic 4th edition Manticore with Necromancer rider STL on Telegram.
You may ask "Where is the rider?". I plan to paint the riders for all these large monsters later, the plan is to magnetize them, so the can be moved between monsters as needed. I will probably come back to these after finishing all the Warriors.
Time for the Great Taurus. I got the Great Taurus (and the Lamassu and several other Chaos Dwarf models) from Cults3d.com from a user named Cigiga. I'm kinda suprized this listing hasn't been deleted yet, but is still available as my writing this and can be found here.
On to the Wyvern. I had access to 3 different GW Wyverns.

| I liked the middle child best, so that's what I used. |
While working on the Manticore it become clear his wings would be an issue for my tightly packed cookie sheets. Before finishing that model, I drilled out holes for magnets were the wings attached and in the wings. I then went back and removed the wings from the Lamassu to do the same there. Then did the same with the Great Taurus and Wyvern when I started working on them.
As it turns out, each large base has 3 magnets on the underside of it, this allows the magnets in the wings to hold them in place on the base pointing up. (I do have to be careful to make sure the magnets are all pointing in the correct directions for this to function).
I should be able to do this for the dragons, deamon princes and greater deamons later as well.
This leaves me with the last monster for the Level 7 table. Chimera. The issue is, GW never made a Chimera I liked. Let alone one for the 90s era that I liked. So I went crazy with a chainsaw in blender and made my own. I took the Legs and stomach from the Great Taurus, the front right leg and mane from the Manticore, mirror that to make a pouncing pose instead of a clawing one. Shrunk down the Manticore Head centering it on the body, then stole the 2nd head and some of the neck off the classic Chaos Dragon and placed that on the right side of the body, then took a Beastmen head off an old GW metal model increasing its size several times over and placed it on the left side of the body. Grabbed the wings from the Great Taurus and spot welded those in place. Then for the final detail, I added the Scorpion Tail from the manticore exactly where you would expect it to go.
After finishing the design in Blender and getting it 3d printed, I spent some time studying the fur patterns and colors of Lions. I wanted this to look reminiscent of classic Chimera. Lion body and head, with extra Goat and Snake heads (sure maybe not in the classic greek spots middle of back goat head and end of tail snake head). Savannah Lions have a golden brown fur with darker brown mane. They have black lips, with black triangular nose. Under the nose its more white as is their chin. The seem to have white eye brows and white eye shadow surrounding their black eye shadow. I used all these details on the Chimera's Lion features.
My skills with blender are limited. I was having trouble getting this to be a multi piece model. It kept wrecking the model carve out indents for the wings, so everything is one big piece. I was unable to have the wings separate, so I won't be able to magnetite those, like I did with the other large monsters with wings.
That finishes the Level 7 chart, so that means another Encounter Table video.
I'm up to 537 monsters painted, 557 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 8/28/25.
Only 21 monsters left to finish the entire Old World monster encounter table.
That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
