All the Monsters, all over the place.

So lots of pictures to show off. Lets get started.

4 Cookie sheets, 558 monsters and 4 Warriors.

To this point I've been storing monsters on cookie sheets. Organizing them in the order I paint them. So Cookie sheet #1 is entirly Level 1 and Cookie sheet #4 is all my most recent painted things. There wasn't quite enough space for everything on 4 sheets, so the 4 Warriors, Nagash and Vermin Lord are just hanging out on the edges.

Lets look at the monsters by Monster type closer up. First up, Orc & Goblins:

10x Black Orcs, Black Orc Champion, 12 Orc, 6 Orc Bowmen, Orc Shaman, Orc Hero, 3 Goblin Shamans, Goblin Hero, 12 Goblin Spearmen, 12 Goblin Archers, 6 Goblin Netters, 6 Goblin Squig Hunters, 6 Squigs, 12 Snotlings, & 3 Fanatics.

 Dark Elves:

6 Witch Elves, Dark Elf Hero, Dark Elf Sorcerer, Witch Elf Champion, 6 Assassins, 12 Dark Elf Champions, Beastmaster, 6 Crossbowmen, & 12 Naggoroth Black Guard.

Chaos Dwarves:

Great Taurus, Lammasu, 3 Bull Centaurs, Bull Centaur Champion, Chaos Dwarf Sorcerer, Chaos Dwarf Hero, 8 Chaos Dwarves, 8 Blunderbusses, and 12 Hobgoblins.

3 Dragon Ogres, Champion, Shaggoth. 4 Centaurs & Champion. 8 Beastmen, 3 Champions, Lord, & Shaman. 12 Chaos Warriors & 6 Champions. 3 Chaos Sorcerers. 3 Minotaurs & Champion.

 Chaos Daemons:

Lord of Change, Tzeentch Daemon Prince, 7 Flamers, 6 Pink Horrors, & 12 Blue Horrors. Keeper of Secrets, Slaanesh Daemon Prince, 4 Fiends, & 10 Daemonettes. Great Unclean One, Nurgle Daemon Prince, Undivided Daemon Prince, 3 Beasts of Nurgle, 10 Plague Bearers, & 12 Nurglings. Bloodthirsters, Khorne Daemon Prince, 3 Juggernauts, & 10 Bloodletters.

Miscellaneous Monsters:

White, Blue, Black, Red, & Green Dragons then Giant.
Manticore, Griffin, Cockatrice, Chimera, Hydra, & Wyvern.
4 Warhounds, 3 Giant Scorpions, 3 Ogres, 3 Gigantic Spiders, 6 Chaos Hounds, 3 Gorgons, 3 Chaos Trolls, 3 Stone Trolls, & 3 River Trolls.
12 Giant Bats, 12 Giant Spiders, & 12 Giant Rats.

And all together Now:

Next Project: paint all Warriors, NPCs, Summons, and Hirelings needed. If I have my math right, that's 70 models. I have 51 3D printed already and 4 painted so far. This should be a cake walk.

That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.

Ghouls, Dark Elves, & Skaven

Tonoborus starts us off with these two models. Ghoul with Bone and Ghoul doing jazz hands. Printed off 6 of each, makes for a dozen. These painted really fast. Elf Flesh, a brown wash, pick out some white for eyes & teeth. Paint the bone and loin cloth. Good to go.

Next Tonoborus gets us this Naggaroth Black Guard model. Purple Cloaks, lots of Silver metal, picked out a little gold for detail, and yellow hair.
For Skaven Stormvermin I found this from 3D_Print_Cleric on Thingiverse. Somehow I found an alternate version as well (left shoulder pad swapped with right shoulder pad). Lots of silver armor, pink noses, tails, and ears. Picked out some detail in armor as either black or red.
Its at this point we hit my new supply for STLs that I haven't discussed yet. Telegram. There are several "Chat" groups, that share free STLs amongst each other. Many of these are direct scans of GW miniatures and print so close to perfect, once painted I don't think most people can tell they are not originals. If you google Telegram & a useful search term (like Warhammer, Oldhammer, or Mordheim) you can find invite links to these Telegram groups. The plague monks I got from one of these groups. Green Robes, Light Grey hoods, Pink Noses, ears, & tails. The upgraded versions (Plague Priest and Plague Lords) I was thinking would have Red hoods to indicate rank.

This puts me up to 224 monsters painted, 508 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 4/5/25.

That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.

Orcs, Skeletons, and Zombies!

Normal Orc Infantry. Using Tonoborus's model. The teeth and metal studs on leather armor where kinda of a pain to paint.

Orc Archers. Using Tonoborus's model.

Skeleton Swordsman. Using Tonoborus's model. One of the skeletons snapped in two while removing his supports, right where his spine meets his pelvis. I glued him back together facing a different direction than the others. He has a slightly more dramatic pose (he's the middle guy in back row).

I have been slightly tempted to replace Tonoboru's Skeleton Warriors with the race specific skeletons from Dogs of War, pictured here, just haven't been willing to dedicate the time to reprint stuff thats done, when there are so many things not yet done.

Skeleton Bowmen. Using Tonoborus's model. These like the skeleton warriors painted rather fast.

Zombies. Using Tonoborus's model. When printing these, one model's leg simply fell off, it must have shifted during the print and so wasn't connected to the body. So its a zombie, what should I do? Of coarse his leg fell off and ends in a pool of blood underneath him. Sure he is currently Looney Tooning it, as he has no idea his leg feel off.

I painted each zombie with different body damage. Patches of missing skin, revealing the top of the skull here and there. A few I used my exact-o knife to remove the nose, eye and/or jaw and painted in the damage. The last fellow I spent a bit of time cutting an arm off and the other hand, letting me swing the axe around so he is dragging the axe and missing an arm. All of these edits were done post printing, just a knife, some glue, and paint to sell the effects.

This puts me up to 134 monsters painted, 386 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed. As of March 8th, 2025.

That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.

Wait, didn't I paint these already? 3.0

Sadly I still haven't got the 3D Printer set up yet. Been like 3 months, no new miniatures printed. I still have a small backlog to pa...
