Wait, they are all done?

Last blog post I mention how our group has added a ton of adventures to our version of Warhammer Quest. We have 204 normal Quests, 24 Dangerous Adventures, 22 Starting Adventures, 54 Side Quests, and 40 Epic Adventures (nearly 350 in total). These all consist of a narrative (even if quite thin), a specific card load out for a dungeon deck, a goal, and a reward for completing that goal. Most of these we wrote, but some are based on GW adventures (like Lair of the Orc Lord or Catacombs of Terror), and some are re-writes of adventures other fans have made.

I bring this up because a few of these added missions have the party fighting the City Guard. Usually its because the city guard are corrupt and you are defending yourself, or it maybe that the City Guard have mistaken you for evil doers and you must fight your way to safety.

Across these missions up to 12 City Guard and one Guard Captain will show up. Empire Helberdiers seem the perfect for this. I believe the base city Guard are using either 3rd or 4th edition Heblberdiers and the Guard Captain is using a 5th or 6th edition model. All of these STLs I found on Telegram.

Guard #1 (3 copies)

Guard #2 (3 copies)

Guard #3 (3 copies)

Guard #4 (3 copies)

 Paint City Guard:

Feathers: "Corax White" dry brushed over with "White Scar"
Half Uniform: "Flash Gitz Yellow"  /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Other Half of Uniform: "Sotek Green" dry brushed over with mix (50% White Scar//50% Sotek Green)
Flesh: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" wash
Beards & Mustaches: "XV-88" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Turban: "Screaming Skull" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Bow Ties, Helberd frills, Top of Hats : "Mephiston Red"  /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Helberd Staff: "Catachan Flesh"
Metal Bitz:  "Runefang Steel" & "Gehenna"s Gold" both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Boots: "Abaddon Black"

 Paint Guard Captain:

Feathers: "Corax White" dry brushed over with "White Scar"
Half Uniform: "Flash Gitz Yellow"  /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Other Half of Uniform: "Xereus Purple" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Flesh: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" wash
Mustache: "XV-88" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Metal Bitz:  "Runefang Steel" & "Gehenna"s Gold" both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Boots & Eye Patch: "Abaddon Black"

All 13 together.

That finishes all 72 Warriors, NPCs, Summons, Were-Forms, & Hireling printed and painted.

Combined that with all 558 monsters already printed and painted and I have 630 models ready to go for Warhammer Quest and it took me just under a year to do. To see all monsters you can check this link.

So now that I have finished everything the base game needs, what next? Expansions of coarse. As I said at the beginning of this blog post, we added tons. One expansion added Type Specific Themed Monster Tables. These tables are D36 instead of D66 (18 results instead of 36 results) and add lots of new monsters. The Themes are Undead, Chaos Daemon, Chaos Beastmen, Chaos General, Skaven, Orc & Goblin, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elves, Miscellaneous,  Ogre, & Lizardmen. When on a mission and it says "find the nearest Undead result", you instead use the Undead Monster Table instead of the normal one. This allowed us to add say "Bone Giant" which don't appear on the normal monster table, but have them show up in any mission that forces Undead enemies to show up.

These expanded lists add 637 more monsters. That sets up my next goal, finish all these monsters by the end of 2026.

That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.

Another party is here to fight you.

So as I've mentioned, our group has added a ton to our version of Warhammer Quest.

The reason I bring this up is a re-occurring trope that shows up in some of these missions is a 2nd adventuring party. Maybe in this adventure you have to rescue an adventuring party that got in over its head. Maybe your party is after the same goal as another adventuring party, which may lead to you fighting them. Maybe a cursed item creates Evil Shadow Duplicants of each member of your party and you must fight them. So from time to time, you may need 2nd copies of your adventurers. I don't want to print, paint, and store 2 copies of each warrior class. So instead, the plan is to make a generic party of 4 that are a Warrior, a Tank, an Archer, and a Wizard. When a 2nd party is needed, or if an NPC shows up that is the same class as someone already in the party, one of these can stand in.

So what models to use for my Generic Party? That's where Bertrand, alongside Hugo le Petit and Gui le Gros come in. Bertrand is an easy stand in for any Archer//Support class, Hugo for any fighter class, and Gui Le Gros for any Tank class. That leaves needing a 2nd Wizard, for this I grabbed Nicodemus from Mordheim.

All four of these models I found the STLs on Telegram.

Here we have all 4 together.

A few blog posts back, I showed off my model and paint job for my Ex-Blood Bowl Player. I lamented in that post how I really wanted the Mighty Zug model more. Well someone who read the post was gracious enough to send me the STL for Mighty Zug! So I've kicked out that generic Human player for a Star Player.

 Paint New Ex-Blood Bowl Player:

Half Team Uniform:  "White Scar"
Other half of Team Unifrom: "Mephiston Red"
Shirt: "Corax White"
Cape, band on hat, & stripe on Feather: "Mephiston Red"  /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash

Sacks on Belt: "Sotek Green"  /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Flesh: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" wash
Scar over Eye: "Emporer's Children" Pink & "Black Templar" wash
Staff: "Catachan Flesh"  /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Metal Bitz on Staff:  "Gehenna"s Gold" &" Runefang Steel" both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash

That leaves 13 NPCs to be painted, then I can move onto printing and painting expansion monsters.

I'm up to 59 Warriors & Pals painted, 72 are 3D printed of the 72 needed as of 12/15/25.

That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.

Werewolf. Werebear. And Were-Eagle?

This is my 50th Blog post for Tiny Quest and collectively those posts have over 5k views. These aren't tremendous numbers, but for such a niche subject feels pretty good.

Still working through the Heroes, NPCs, Hirelings, Summons, and such. I'm hoping to have all of these completed by New Years Eve. The last of the playable character models, is the transformations for the Kislevite Shaman. For our re-write of the game we made every class more powerful (other than the Wizard, which we made weaker). To buff the Kislevite Wolf Shaman, it gained Were-forms. At level 1, it can turn into a Werewolf for one combat per day. At level 2, it gains one of three Were-forms that it can transform into once per day. Werewolf, Werebear, or Were-Eagle. Werewolf is faster with more attacks. Werebear is tougher and hits harder, and Were-Eagle has Flying and more bonuses for Spellcasting.

I'm trying to keep as many models for this project as 2nd -5th edition Warhammer Fantasy Battles (or other GW games from that era).  Not that many Wereform models to choose from. For my Werewolf, I decided to use Beorg from the Bearmen of Urslo. Beorg I found on Telegram.

Werewolf Paint:
Skin: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Fur: "Catachan Flesh" dry brushed over with "XV-88"
Claws & Teeth: "Scar White"

I couldn't find a Werebear in old GW models. The closest I could find was the Kislevite Army has a Bear ridden by General or a Bear in chains being used as a Banner//mascot. The model I ended up using was for a custom built Blood Bowl Team found here. I made slight edits, but I like how it turned out.

Werebear Paint:
Fur: "Corax White" dry brushed over with "White Scar"
Tongue: "Mephiston Red"
Nose & Eyes: "Aboddon Black"
Hands: "Aboddon Black" dry brushed over with "Admistratum Grey"
Claws: "Screaming Skull" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Teeth: "Scar White"
Chains:  "Runefang Steel" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash

I found the Were-Eagle model on MyMiniFactory.com.  I edited the model so it's wings were also its arms, combined its base with the dungeon bases I've been using, shrunk it down to Tiny Quest size, and then made him thicker so he would hopefully print well.

Model on left is what I purchases, elf in middle for scale, and model
on right is after I edited to suite my needs.

Were-Eagle Paint:
Feathers on Head, Neck, & Tail: "Corax White" dry brushed over with "White Scar"
Feathers on Back & Wings: "Catachan Flesh" dry brushed over with "XV-88"
Beak & Talons: "Flash Gitz Yellow" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Armor:  "Gehenna's Gold" & "Sotek Green" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash

And here are all 3 Were-forms with the Kislevite Wolf Shaman.

That leaves 17 NPCs to be painted, then I can move onto printing and painting expansion monsters.

I'm up to 55 Warriors & Pals painted, 72 are 3D printed of the 72 needed as of 12/10/25.

That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.

Amazon and those who server Knights

Took a small break. I was in Las Vegas for 6 days, (mostly judging a large Magic the Gathering tournament) and then spent most of the next 2 week learning how to use Lychee to support STLs, then printing off miniatures for the Undead Themed Encounter table. (Before my wife was doing the Lychee part, but she has become distracted be some resent video game releases)

Still working my way through playable classes for Warhammer Quest, plus any Hirelings, Summons, and enemy NPCs.

We added quite a bit to the Bretonian Knight. Among those things added, he gets Title Skills at Level 2 (champion), Level 5 (hero), and Level 9 (lord). Like other classes there are 3 different skills at each Title and the Knight only gets one at each of them. At Champion, one skill is gain a Squire (Bretonian Knight NPC at -1 BL). At Hero, one skill is gain a Mistrel, the mistrel hides during fights, but can be targeted and killed by traps. At Lord, one skill is gain an Errant (Bretonian Knight NPC at equal BL).

First up Squire. I'm currently using Sir Theodoric as my squire. I think I want to replace him with a Man-at-Arms model at some point, but this works for now.

Squire Paint:
Skin: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Under Shirt and Trousers: "Kantor Blue"
Facial Hair: "XV-88"
Belt & Axe Handle: "Catachan Flesh"
Metal Bitz:  "Gehenna's Gold" or "Runefang Steel" both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash

The next Knight hireling is Mistral. The model we have here is Jules the Jester (assistant to Tristan the Troubadour).

Mistral Paint:
Skin: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Half the outfit: "Flash Gitz Yellow" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Other Half the outfit: "Mephiston Red" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Hobby Horse: "XV-88"
Stick: "Catachan Flesh"
Metal Bitz:  "Gehenna's Gold" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash

The last Knight hireling is a Errant. This model is from Mordenheim, "Knight for Hire" on foot.

Errant Paint:
Skin: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Facial Hair: "Flash Gitz Yellow" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Under Shirt, Hat, and Trousers: Half "Mephiston Red" and half "Moot Green"
Boots & Belt: "XV-88" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Feathers: "Corax White" dry brushed over with "Scar White"
Metal Bitz:  "Gehenna's Gold" or "Runefang Steel" both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash

Here is the Bretonian Knight with his Hirelings:

Now on to the last of the 30 playable Classes, Amazon.

I think this model was original for Mordenheim.

Amazon Paint:
Skin: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Shirt & Loin Cloth: "Moot Green"
Leather Straps & Belt: "XV-88" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Feathers: "Scar White" /w "Nikilakh Oxide" Wash
Metal Bitz:  "Gehenna's Gold" or "Runefang Steel" both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Skull: "Screaming Skull" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Hair: "Flash Gitz Yellow"  /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Bag: "Mephiston Red"

Here is a quick video showing off all 30 Playable classes for my Groups Warhammer Quest.

First row left to right:
Wardancer, Imperial Noble, Dwarf Berserker, Barbarian, Dwarf

2nd row left to right:
Kislevite Shaman, Warrior Priest, Pit Fighter, Wizard, Elf

3rd row left to right:
Elf Ranger, Outlaw, Chaos Warrior, Witch Hunter, Dwarven Brewmaster

4th row left to right:
Dwarf Runemaster, Ex-Blood Bowl Player, Swashbuckler, Elf Bard, Bretonian Knight

5th row left to right:
Norscan Berserker, Chainsaw Warrior, Amazon, High Elf Mage, Halfling Thief

Final row left to right:
Ogre, Lord of Anareon, Bounty Hunter, Assassin, Druid

That leaves 3 were-forms for the Kislevite Shaman and 17 NPCs to be painted, then I can move onto printing and painting expansion monsters.

I'm up to 52 Warriors & Pals painted, 72 are 3D printed of the 72 needed as of 12/04/25.

That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
