Starting off with some yellow turds, 12 of them even. Nurglings provided by Tonoborus. I painted this the same way I painted the Plague Bearers, Flash Gits yellow with Agrax Earthshade inking. Painted "boils" in Warpstone Glow with white highlights. Pick out some teeth, eyes, and toe nails in white and call them done.
Then we move onto some Ghosts. These also come from Tonoborus. I wasn't sure how to do "ghostly", especially since I didn't want to break out my Airbrush, so I did a simple Youtube search for "paint ghosts". I watched 5-6 videos, a few had the same plan that I ended up using, the most concise version being this one. Short version, is paint the models fully in White Scar, then ink it with Nikilakh Oxide, the dry brush is with White Scar after the ink has dried.
So I really wanted glorious 80 hair Dark Elf Witches pictured below.
Sadly I couldn't find STLs for them. I even went as far as borrowing "BOBs" witch elves, and trying to Scan them with a Revopoint Mini scanner I borrowed from another friend. I can get good scan out of larger models (Minotaur, Trolls, Greater Daemons) but not infantry. The scanner has trouble with really small details like faces, and skinny weapons, and arms.
I had access to both 6th edition and 8th edition STLs for Witch Elves, but they just lacked that early 90s Games Workshop look I wanted.

So I'm going to use a place holder model for now. There is a designer on cults3d.com (and several other sites) who has many fully custom minis that mimic Warhammer Fantasy. They go by the screen name Ystlund. I believe they provide all their designs for free. You can get these witches here. If I can get 4th edition STLs I will be replacing these models.
Paint scheme is simple enough, Kislev Flesh (washed with Skeleton Horde) for Skin. Emporer's Children Pink for Hair (mixed White Scar with the pink to make a light pink for Highlights). Abaddon Black, Xereus Purple, Runefang Steel, & Gehenna's Gold for armor, weapons, and cloths. Screaming Skull with Skeleton Horde wash for the skulls on Belt and Helmet.
The last thing for today is three Giant Scorpions. I heavily modified this model from Zertux on Cults3d.com. Because I would be shrinking the model down so much, I simplified the model a lot. I removed all of its legs, made a single simple leg and copied it 7 times for 8 copies of the same simple leg. I also increased the size of the Stinger and its two main eyes. I painted the whole model in Mephiston Red, then painted pincers, Stinger and sides of body and tail in Corax White, then washed the whole thing with Agrax Earthshade. Picked out its eyes with White Scar and all done.
Update 8/2/25: Tonoborus now provides Giant Scorpions for 56 cents you can get here. So the original rules of Quest don't say how many spaces a Giant Scorpion should take up and it doesn't have Large Monster rules. So when
re-writing the game, we determined they only took up one space.
Tonoborus interpreted that this model can take up 4 spaces but does not have
Large Monster rules.

I'm up to 429 monsters painted, 535 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 6/21/25.
This leaves only 8 models for Level 3 (all champion and/or wizard enemies).
That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
DeMagic Tutor out.
