My buddy "Bob" got a copy of 1995 Warhammer Quest, some time in the late 90s. We played it a little as we sampled a ton of GW games back then (Warhammer Fantasy, 40k, Blood Bowl, Necromunda, Gorkamorka, Space Hulk). Then some time between 2005-2008, Bob got the idea, he should re-write Warhammer Quest from the ground up and collect all the miniatures needed for all 11 Levels of the game. We started playing every weekend, and more or less have since. There have been a few breaks here and there, but as time went on we wrote whole expansions. Lustria, Norsca, Sewers and Lost Caverns. Adding new dungeon decks, dungeon tiles, monsters, adventures, adding Epic Quests and dangerous Quests. New classes. Room Features. Monster Cards. Monster Item Decks. Spell book decks for casting class. New Printed Rule book with our rules. Adventure book with our adventures. Character Sheet Folders with pockets for item cards and item cards for those pocket sheets. Full color Class books. We "borrowed" resources from wherever we could find them. Many found so long ago, no clue where they came from.
Most of the re-write and new rules were written by Bob, some by me. Almost all new game components I made. All miniatures and game tiles provided by Bob. He has every miniature needed and they are all painted, most have custom bases at this point too. You can see his collection here .
Over the years, we maintained 4 players that meet and play most weekends. Bob and I are always there and the other 2 slots have changed over time. During Covid, we decided to move into Table Top Simulator. I was able to make a passable version uploading all the resources I had created.
Sadly, in 2021, we lost one of our long standing friends and fellow dungeon divers to a heart attack. Rob will be missed.
The current crew, is Bob, Jeremy, my youngest kid, and I.
That gets you caught up to December of last year.
My wife decides, she needs a 3D printer for Christmas. I encourage this. I have spent hundreds (if not thousands) of hours making resources for Warhammer Quest. But I don't have my own copy. This is about to change.
In the previous year, I had seen a post from a guy, who was creating his own Warhammer Quest with custom miniatures at 2/3rd scale. This way it would take up less space and have a cute feel to it.
Tonoborus even provides his miniatures on cults3d.com. You can find them here:
So here is where this Blog starts. We are going to begin with what Tonoborus has made. This will mean finding many miniatures else where because my goal is to not only have all 558 monster (for Main Game before expansions) 3D printed before the end of 2025, I plan to have them all painted as well.
The first miniature was 3D printed on December 28th, 2024. As of this post, not quite 4 months later, 234 monsters are painted and 508 are 3D printed. I have acquired STL's for all 558 monsters. Though several I would like to replace with more "nostalgic" models.

| This like most of my level 1 monsters is a Tonoborus sculpt and can be found on the cults3d.com link above. |
So the plan is, to blog about my journey in making my own copy of Warhammer Quest. As the blog is way behind where I'm currently at, I expect I can post quite a bit.
That is it for the introduction.
May your lantern always stay lit.
DeMagic Tutor out.
