So lets start off with some distractions. I'm hoping to start actually playing Warhammer Quest using all this stuff I made some time soon. I hadn't painted the doors yet, so I knocked that out quick.

| 9 normal doors, 2 Locked doors, and 1 Portcullis. |
These are 3d printed like everything else, but I actually kept them at the normal size. Having the doors larger proportionally than my models and dungeon tiles, makes it easier for Cavalry Models and large models to fit inside them while half in one room and half in another. I got this STL from our old friend Tonoborus. Here they are at normal WHQ size. Here they are at Tiny Quest size.
I had to edit the "stand" part of the doors to work with my Custom Printed tiles.
I then edit his file to have a shut or locked door by adding this file.
I then edit the file again to have a Portcullis by adding this file.
I spray painted all of these using "Mechanicus Standard Grey" and then dry brushed over that with "Administratum Grey". From there picked out metal with "Iron Breaker", wood with "XV-88", and Skulls with "Screaming Skull" and washed with "Skeleton Horde".
I think I'll print 2 more Portcullis and 6 more normal doors down the road.
Next up, there are still some models I would replace as soon as I can get specific STLs I'm looking for.
I've been looking for the following ( most of the versions I'm looking for were available in late 90s - early 2000s)
Plastic Witch Elves (Glorious 80s hair)
Metal Witch Elves (Glorious 80s hair)
Chaos Hounds (high variety scorpion tales, scales)
Hydra
Dark Elf Beastmaster
Isabella Von Carstien
Original Mighty Zug from Blood Bowl
And Boneripper (Rat Ogre Special Character)
As it turns out Boneripper showed up in one of my Telegram Groups. So I printed him right away to replace one of the Rat Ogres I already had finished.
Boneripper Paint:
Skin: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Metal Bitz:
"Gehenna's Gold" & "Ironebreaker" Silver both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Horns: "Screaming Skull" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Teeth & Claws: "White Scar" white
Tail, Ears, and Nose: "Emporer's Children" Pink
Fur: "Catachan Flesh" and dry brushed over with "XV-88"
Pimples: "Mephiston Red" dotted with "Flash Gitz Yellow"

So last we left, I had 3 monsters left to paint. 3rd Vampire, Vermin Lord, and Liche King. So lets start with the smallest guy.
I had hoped I would find the Isebella Von Carstien by the time I needed to paint my 3rd Vampire. Sadly still haven't found her STL yet, so I'll have to make do with the Generic Von Carstein model. This STL was found in one of my Telegram groups.
Vampire Paint:
Skin: "Corax White" /w "Skeleton Horde" wash
Metal Bitz:
"Gehenna's Gold" & "Ironebreaker" Silver both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Cape & Cloth: "Mephiston Red" /w "Agrax Earthsade" Wash or "Aboddon Black" /w dry brush "Dawnstone" grey
Teeth: "White Scar" white
Sash belt: "Kantor Blue" /w "Agrax Earthsade" Wash
Blade: "Sotek Green" dry brushed with "White Scar"
Skulls: "Screaming Skull" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
As discussed in my last article, I need a "normal" of each greater daemon and a extra large "exalted" of each great daemon. This includes the Vermin Lord. Problem is, the model I want to use for the exalted Vermin Lord was the first ever Vermin Lord. So I needed a simpler less impressive version for my normal Vermin Lord. I had come across a conversion someone had made using the "Dweller in the Dark" model from Lord of the Rings. I followed what they did. Remove the wings, give him a rat face (stolen from Wolf Rat) and gave him a Glaive Weapon (stolen from normal Vermin Lord). I found the STL in yet another Telegram groups, this group dedicated to Lord of the Rings.
Vermin Lord Paint:
Skin: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Skeleton Horde" wash
Fur: "Kislev Flesh" /w "Agrax Earthshade" wash
Skull, Horns, Elbo Spikes, & Hooves: "Screaming Skull" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Metal Bitz:
"Gehenna's Gold" & "Ironebreaker" Silver both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Glaive Pummel: "Moot Green" dry brushed with "White Scar"
Glaive Staff: "XV-88"
Teeth & Claws: "White Scar" white
Tail, Ears, & Nose: "Emperor's Children" Pink
Last, but not least. We need a Liche King. I was kinda surprised this showed up in the Original Warhammer Quest Monster Encounter Tables. I had assumed we added him. Liche King is a Liche that counts as a Large Monster. I can't think of a better model than old Mr. Cheeks himself, Nagash.
Small aside. Nagash was the first Warhammer model I ever purchased. It was for my friend's Undead army for his birthday. We were in middles school, meaning this happened in the mid-90s. Painting this was awesome. The nostalgia hit hard and just seemed fitting to be the last monster I need to paint for the main game. This STL was found in one of my Telegram groups.
Liche King Paint:
Face-Skull, Hands, & all the tiny skulls: "Screaming Skull" /w "Skeleton Horde" Wash
Metal Bitz: "Gehenna's Gold" & "Ironebreaker" Silver both /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Magic Sword: "Moot Green" dry brushed with "White Scar"
Hat Wings, Scabbard, & Topper Bat: "Mephistone Red" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Book of the Dead: "XV-88" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash
Teeth: "White Scar" white
Cloak: "Xereus Purple" /w "Agrax Earthshade" Wash and dry brushed with "Genestealer Purple"
I'm up to 558 monsters painted, 558 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 10/01/25.
That's the entire Old World monster encounter table. I painted the first miniature for this project on 12/31/24 (a giant spider). 274 days. Averaging about 2 miniatures painted per day.
Next Project: paint all Warriors, NPCs, Summons, and Hirelings needed. If I have my math right, that's 70 models. I have 51 3D printed already and 4 painted so far. This should be a cake walk.
That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
DeMagic Tutor out.

This is a massive and really fantastic accomplishment. Outstanding job!
