So this is the first and last post for the Level 6 Encounter Table. It only adds a handful of new models. I even messed up and added two more models than it needed. All models new to Level 6 were found on Telegram.
Lets start with our Beastmen Lord. My Beastmen Champions, Beastmen Shaman, and Beastmen Lord are all from the Beastmen Mordheim Gang.
I painted this guy just like all my Beastmen//Minotaurs. The big changer here is, he has a prisoner. I gave her blue robes and blonde hair.
Next we move onto the mess up. I didn't actually need the Goblin Shaman Mystiks until Level 7. But which ever. We have a generic Night Goblin Shaman and Skarsnik.
Next we have Vampires. One Vampire is from Mordhiem and the other is Vlad Von Cartstien.
Last for today we get the Lammasu. I haven't painted the rider yet. The plan is to magnetise the riders so I can switch between Mage and Lord models between Lammasu and Great Taurus. I google "Lammasu Warhammer" for painting idea. I came across the below image.
I used this for a jumping off point for my Lammasu.
I really like how my Chaos Dwarf Hero//Lord model turned out with his white beard, so I combined that with the above image.
That completes the Level 6 Encounter Table. So here is a video of all monsters necessary for that table.
I'm up to 530 monsters
painted, 557 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 8/20/25.
Only 28 monsters left to finish the entire Old World monster encounter table.
That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
Three Large Monsters left and we finish the Level 5 Monster Encounter table. On August 8th I again put the order to a poll on the Facebook Group "Warhammer Quest!"
1st - Cockatrice
2nd - Dragon Ogre Champion
3rd - Griffon
So which Cockatrice should I use? The really old (marauder) model is a bit small and scrawny. The newer one doesn't look like a Cockatrice to me. It doesn't have the Comb (fleshy thing on top of its head) nor does it have a Wattle (flesh that dangles under its beak). I think its a cool model, its just not a a Cockatrice.
Newer GW Cockatrice to left Ancient Maurader Cockatrice to right.
I searched the usually STL websites for a better model (Cults3d, Myminifactory, Thingiverse). The best one I found was this guy.
Link for this above picture.
Here is my guy painted up.
Here he is again, with an Elf for size comparison.
"Warpstone Glow" for Body and wing borders, "Administratum Grey" feathers dry brushed over with "White Scar". "Troll Slayer Orange" around eyes, "Mephiston Red" Wings, Comb, and Wattle. "Flesh Gits Yellow" eyes, legs, & feet. "Screaming Skull" for beak, washed it with "Skeleton Horde". Wash green, red, and yellow parts with "Agrax Earthshade". "Scar White" toe claws and all done.
I paid like $10-15 for these scans on Cults3d.com, they later got removed for copy right issues. They are available on Telegram for free. I made the champion model about 20% larger than the normal 3 printed earlier. Same paint scheme here as with the normal Dragon Ogres from DL 4.
Dragon Ogre Champion
Here we see the Champion with his slightly smaller brothers.
Comparison of Normal size left to Tiny Quest size right.
Just for fun size comparisons, left to right: Normal size Metal Shaggoth, Normal size Plastic Dragon Ogre, Normal Size Metal old Dragon Ogre, Tiny Quest Dragon Ogre Champion, Tiny Quest normal Dragon Ogre.
Last mini for today is the Griffon. The original rules had a Griffon and Hippogriff. Stat wise the only difference between them was like 1 initiative. We ended up replacing every Hippogriff with just a Griffon to save having to buy, paint, and store one more model.
I found this STL in the Telegram group for Warhammer Scans.
I did a google search for paint ideas and came across this:
I really like the Bengal tiger look of the back half on the first paint scheme.
"Administratum Grey" light feathers dry brushed over with "White Scar". "Catachan Flesh" dark feathers dry brushed over with "XV-88". "Troll Slayer Orange" legs with "Abaddon Black" stripes. "Flesh Gits
Yellow" beak and front feet. "Agrax
Earthshade" to wash front feet. "Scar White" toe claws and teeth. "Mephiston Red" tongue.
This completes the Dungeon Level 5 Monster Encounter Table. Below a video of all monsters needed for that table.
I was getting close to having all printed models painted, so the wife got back to printing some of the missing models.
I'm up to 524 monsters
painted, 542 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 8/14/25.
Only 34 monsters left to finish the entire Old World monster encounter table.
That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
On August 4th, I started another pole on what to paint next (the pole is in the Facebook Group Warhammer Quest!)
1st - Chaos Dwarf Hero
2nd - Three Banshees
Tied for 3rd - Dark Elf Hero & Liche
Tied for 4th - Three Chaos Sorcerers & Stormvermin Warlord
I knew long before starting Level 5, I would be using Astragoth as my Chaos Dwarf Champion//Hero//Lord model. He's too sweet a model to not paint. I found him in the Telegram group "A.O.S. STL". I did google him, to get painting ideas.
Paint scheme idea I found online.
I really like the idea of grey hair, beard, and eye brows. I painted him with green, yellow, and blue "wires" to make his "robotness" stand out more. Here is my version.
Next up Banshees. I found these in the Telegram group for Warhammer Scans. I just used the same paint scheme as I did with my Ghosts and Wraiths. I like the idea that their weapons are physical objects, while everything else is ghostly.
We move onto the Liche . This model is Heinrich Kemmler. Most Liches are already dead, but Heinrich's title is Lichemaster. Always wanted to paint this model. I found Heinrich on Cults3d.com.
Dark Elf Hero//Lord next. This model is Malus Darkblade. I think I found him on Telegram, but not sure.
Stormvermin Warlord. Similar to Malus, not sure where I got this STL.
Lastly for today we have 3 Chaos Sorcerers. I wanted one for Nurgle, one for Tzeentch, and one for Slaanesh. I also wanted to use some vintage models, which gives a ton to choose from. I know I found all of them on Telegram, and had atleast 20 to choose between.
Nurgle in green.
Nurlge in Green.
Tzeentch in Red & Blue.
Slaanesh in Pink & Purple.
Slaanesh in Pink & Purple.
Tzeentch in Red & Blue.
I'm up to 521 monsters
painted, 534 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 8/4/25.
Only 37 monsters left to finish the entire Old World monster encounter table.
That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
On July 26th I started another pole on what to paint next.
1st - Three Chaos Trolls
2nd - Three Gorgons
3rd - Three Mummy Tomb Kings
These trolls I found on Telegram in a group called Oldhammer STL (labeled Retro Fantasy Ruined Trolls).
Paint scheme is rather simple. I used "Kantor Blue" and "Corax White" for skin colors. "Gehenna's Gold" & "Runefang Steel" for metal bitz. "White Scar" for teeth. Washed
most everything in either "Agrax Earthshade" or "Skeleton Horde".
So for Tiny Quest, I'm looking for retro Games Workshop miniatures. But I don't really know of any Gorgon or Medusa models for the late 80s to late 90s era. So I searched high and low and couldn't find something I liked. I eventually just settled with this model above (no clue where I found it). It came with a whole team of Snake people for a Bloodbowl team. I'm assuming this was suppose to be either the Coach or Apothecary for the team. I removed here staff and book and shrunk her down.
"Flash Gitz Yellow", "Warpstone Glow", and "Moot Green" for skin, "Runefang Steel" for metal bikini, and washed with either "Agrax Earthshade" or "Skeleton Horde".
I found these on Telegram in a group that no longer exists. I used two for generic mummies and one for the Tomb King.
"Moot Green" for rotting flesh, "Screaming Skull" bandages, pick out some
metal and wood. "Sotek Green", "Gehenna's Gold", & "Runefang Steel" for armor and weapons. Wash everything with "Agrax Earthshade".
I'm up to 511 monsters
painted, 535 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 8/4/25.
Only 47 monsters left to finish the entire Old World monster encounter table.
That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
Only 2 models left to finish the Level 4 table. One Warpfire Team and one Dark Elf Champion. Its easier to paint all models of the same type at the same time, so I'll paint all 3 Warpfire Throwers at once and then all 12 Dark Elf Champions at once.
Skaven Warpfire Thrower Teams are first on the chopping block. I got these guys on Telegram in a large group of useful old skaven stuff.
The two models to the far right, 2nd to bottom row are our Warpfire Team.
The Warpfire Team consists of two models, gunner and fuel hauler. I painted these like Plague Monks, with green robs and grey hoods. Pink noses and tails (would have painted ears pink too but they are covered by hoods). Pick out some metal in silver and/or bronze. Yellow rope for holding Fuel casks.
Last model group needed for Level 4, the 12 Dark Elf Champions. I made this model by combining two other models. I took the head off the classic plastic dark elf warrior, and placed it on the body of Tonoborus's Naggoroth Black Guard. Then I edited the Halberd into a spear by removing the axe portion.
Left to Right: Classic GW Plastic Dark Elf, Tonoborus's Black Guard, and finally my combining of the two models to make a Dark Elf Champion.
12 Dark Elf Champions.
I painted these the same as my Naggoroth Black Guard.
This completes everything needed for the Level 4 Monster Encounter table.
Here we have a video with all of them.
