So close to being done with the Dungeon level 4 monster encounter table. Today we start off with a Wight Champion. Who else but Krell, Lord of the Undead should I use? I found this STL in a group on Telegram for Warhammer Scans.
Paint scheme is rather simple. I used "Mephiston Red" for body armor and helmet. To highlight the armor a little I mixed in some "White Scar" for a 2nd layer. "Gehenna's Gold" & "Runefang Steel" for metal bitz. Bone and horns with "Screaming Skull" with "White Scar" Teeth. "XV-88" for his Micheal Jackson glove. "Flash Gits Yellow" for axe frilly fibers (no clue what they are called). Washed
most everything in either "Agrax Earthshade" or "Skeleton Horde". Final detail being to add "Nikilakn Oxide" in very small amounts over armor studs and in joints to indicate oxidation.
With this paint scheme I'm mostly emulating a painter I found on facebook, he goes by NRMpaint. You can find him at https://www.facebook.com/nrmpaint. Below it his current work in progress for Krell ( I don't think he has released the finished version yet).

| This was done by NRMpaint, I liked what he started, so tried to emulate it. |
Next we move on to Witch Elf Champion. I'm still on the look out for glorious 80s hair Witch Elves, sadly no luck. Also my attempts at 3D scaning "Bob"s models have failed miserably. So I'm still using Ystlund's Witch Elves. You can see Ystlund's full catalog here. As I was writing this article, I was going to add a link directly to his Witch Elves, sadly it appears he got a copy write ban, and all his designs that are not undead or not terrain are now missing. This is true for both his 3Dcults and Myminifactory accounts.
I painted her the same as her sisters. That can be found here.
Puppies! We need warhounds. I've found quite a few miniatures in the old school style of late 80s early to 90s by looking up old Mordeim miniatures. When I get to showing off the Warrior Classes, this is were Mordeim really paid off for me. But I digress, one the Mordheim factions is "Witch Hunters" and they have hounds, these will work perfect. These I found on Telegram, in a group that is now gone.
| Look at those cute doggos at the bottom. |
They kinda look like Mastiffs to me, so I googled Mastiff for fur color scheme ideas. I found two that I liked.
The left has a pale yellow fur with black snout, around eyes, and tips of ears. The right is almost all black other than white patches on neck and chest. The only change I made was to give them pink noses, to help define the end of the face in the sea of black. As a note: I spray paint prime all my miniatures in black before painting them.
For pale yellow doggos, I used "Screaming Skull" for the fur and used "Black Templar" ink to blacken eyes, snout and ears. I used both "Soulblight Grey" and "Agrax Earthshade" washes over the fur. Then went back in and dry brushed a little more "Screaming Skull".
For the near all black doggos, I dry brushed "Scar White" over all its fur then washed everything with "Black Templar" ink.
For both I picked out the metal with "Gehenna's Gold" & "Runefang Steel" then the usual "XV-88"for leather. Lastly a little "Scar White" for teeth and claws, "Mephiston Red" for battle scars, and "Emperor's Children" for the nose tips.
I for the life of me, can't remember where I found this Beastmaster. I did some slight editing to the model, removing spikes from the whip handle and removed both his nipple rings. I figured those details wouldn't print well once shrunk. The paint scheme matches that of my Witch Elves, just adding a "Moot Green" whip.
Update: found the original STL for the Dark Elf Beastmaster here.
Then here we have all 5 together.
I'm up to 487 monsters painted, 535 monsters 3D printed of the 558 needed as of 7/25/25.
Only 2 monsters left to finished Dungeon Level 4 monster encounter table.
Only 71 monsters left to finish the entire Old World monster encounter table.
That's all for this post, may your lantern always stay lit.
DeMagic Tutor out.
